Swedish Massage

Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (light touch), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (compression), and vibration. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee over a period of eight weeks.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage is working with, not on, the deeper layers. It is geared toward what you, the client, likes and responds to. It has been compared, by Art Riggs,CMT, to "driving on a country road and must slow down and downshift to a more powerful gear when encountering hills or sharp curves". It is my job to understand the layers of your body and work with the tissues to relax, lengthen, and release the tension held in those layers.

Combination Massage

Swedish massage with some deep tissue to work out those "knots" in your muscles.

Sports Massage

A Deep Tissue massage that includes stretches and resisted movement.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone massage is a favorite of mine. In fact, I usually massage with hot stones to a small extent in every session, unless you don't like heat. The heat in the stones is very beneficial to relax the muscles. Most people have the initial perception of very warm lotion or oil being applied. A full session of Hot Stone massage is extremely relaxing.

Trigger Point

Trigger Point technique is most often used in Deep Tissue massage, but can also be utilized in Swedish. Again, the amount of pressure used is what is appropriate for you. Trigger points are found in any muscle on the body - manifesting as those "knots" that you feel. Applying specific pressure and strokes will cause those knots to "untie" and restore relaxed state.

Pregnancy Massage

Focus is on the particular areas of stress in pregnancy achieving a more relaxed state. Comfort is accomodated by having her lie on her side throughout the massage session.

Reflexology

Precise points are massaged in feet, hands and/or ears that stimulate nerves corresponding to other areas of the body.

TMJ Massage

The temporomadibular joint is the joint of the jaw and is referred to as TMJ. Stress can cause pain and dysfunction which can be greatly benefited by this specialized massage.

.

Aromatherapy

This is the therapeutic use of plant-derived, aromatic essential oils to promote physical and psycological well-being.

Body Scrub

Recently,Salt Scrub has been recognized as an excellent way to treat and prevent cellulite. Apparently, it increases the circulation of the underlying skin layers and distributes clusters of fat that give the skin the the "orange skin" appearance.

Skin exfoliation is skin rejuvenation
If skin rejuvenation is your goal, skin exfoliation is your ally. Facial and skin exfoliation rejuvenates the skin by removing dull layers of cells from the surface of the skin. This stimulates skin renewal, reduces acne and helps diminish wrinkles and fine lines. Using skin exfoliation products and techniques on a regular basis can uncover healthier skin … and reveal a happier you.

Body Wrap

Body Wrap can reduce inches, clear up skin problems, detoxify, reduce cellulite, tone and firm the skin. The skin will absorb about 40 percent of the active ingredients.
